The session ended flat at $1120-1160/mt CFR
China March 3. The domestic China market's intermonth spread was around
Yuan ten/mt between April & May, which brings the spread to contango. The H1 May and H2 laycans were valued at $1/mt
CFR China March. This brings the spread to contango. Although
this is partially offset by higher than expected domestic consumption, overall
demand expectations are still below what was expected. This is
affecting polymer demand," a trader stated. "Demand remains very
poor, there have been a large rise in styrene stocks on the domestic
market," he said. A trader estimated that there was a 10,000 mt
build of stock between January and February.
