North African polyethylene prices rose in the week ending July 31, as freight costs were stable and some grades had limited availability. CFR West Africa LDPE Spot Prices up $60/mt from the previous week to $1,280/mt. The polyethylene grades on the African market saw mixed movement as availability varied. LDPE was said to be tight this week. Sources claim that LDPE supplies from the Middle East were low, causing prices in North and West Africa to rise. In the North African market there was a lot of activity from sellers, but the buying interest among consumers was low. Only a few deals were concluded this week.
