North African polyethylene markets remained unchanged during the week ending August 14, due to stable demand and adequate supplies. CFR North Africa HDPE Film Spot Prices remained unchanged at $1,130/mt for the week. North Africa's supply and demand conditions mirrored those of the previous week. Demand was tepid, while supply was healthy. Sellers from different Middle Eastern origins were competing for business. Converters in Egypt's key market purchased on a "hand-to-mouth" basis due to a steady demand by customers. West African traders blamed weak demand for the slowdown. Local protests in Nigeria against high inflation and the weak economic situation of the country affected trading activity. A trader stated that the demand in West Africa was very low.
