China continued to offer lower prices for acrylonitrile in Asia despite the weaker demand. Many suppliers from Northeast Asia focused on the India market because it offered better netbacks. Due to maintenance in China, domestic Chinese cargoes are now being heard at Yuan 8,500-8600/mt ex tank, up Yuan 50-150/mt from the previous week. According to a producer, this is equivalent to about $1,060/mt CFR China based on import parity. According to a trader in China, current domestic prices are $1,070/mt FOM China. Freight to Northeast Asia is estimated to be $35-$40/mt. The freight to India was estimated at $100-150/mt. The China-based trader said that some of the producers in Northeast Asia surveyed are targeting India as a market. Even though Chinese prices have increased, the actual demand has remained low....
