Rising feedstock costs support stronger offers / Supplies ease for Dec-January loaders

The Asian acrylonitrile market strengthened in the week ended Dec. 2, driven by rising feedstock propylene and ammonia costs. Domestic Shandong discussions remained stable at Yuan 7,850-7,950/metric ton, equivalent to $921-$933/mt on an import parity basis, unchanged from the previous week. Producers adopted a firmer stance in the seaborne market. Selling indications for H2-December to early January were heard at $1,120-$1,125/mt CFR Southeast Asia, while Northeast Asia levels were around $1,110/mt CFR. A major supplier offered December-loading India cargoes at $1,130/mt CFR, stating January offers are likely to rise further due to escalating feedstock prices and steady demand. Acrylonitrile production is expected to remain high, with major plants maintaining firm price expectations.
