South Asia ACN: Prices increase due to concerns about supply / CFR Far East Asia gains $15/mt / Southeast Asian prices are increasing - Jan 16, 2025

The tightening of supplies in adjacent regions led to a rise in prices on the South Asia acrylonitrile markets. ACN CFR South Asia was up $20/mt from the previous week to $1,310/mt. Sources on the market said that sellers were offering ACN freights at prices significantly higher than $1,300/mt. However, traders' indications ranged widely from $1300/mt up to $1400/mt. A Mumbai-based trader, initially sceptical about the increase in ACN prices, now acknowledges the trend while providing higher tradable indicators. A second trader reported that buyers are showing an increased interest in higher prices, between $1,340/mt and $1,350/mt. A downstream fiber manufacturer noted that, although the market is firming up, sellers continue to discuss prices at an excessively high level.
