Celanese will shut down 210,000 mt/year Singapore plant VAM for turnaround on August 5 Acetic Acid: India domestic ex tank acetic acids prices have improved slightly. Offers heard were around Rupee 37/kg in Kandla and Rupee38.50/kg in Mumbai ports. Sources said that the ex-tank price was firmer because of a rise in prices internationally and a higher cost to replace. Sources say that the AA market is still struggling with strong port inventories, and weak downstream demand. A market source stated that the demand for ex-tank pricing is not strong enough to justify the price increase. Another source added, "Long term, the downstream market is not able support."
