The Asian acetic acids prices fell in the week ending Sept. 12, due to the high production rates and ample supply in China. Vinyl acetate monomer remained steady despite the low trading volume. East China AA prices were Yuan 50/mt less than the previous week, at about Yuan 2,850/mt. FOB China AA Cargoes bound for the Indian Market were offered on September 12 at $345-$350/mt. A trader stated that the price was almost equal to production costs. The Asian VAM market had a lackluster trading activity during the week ending September 12. Market sources reported that the arbitrage between Japan and Southeast Asia was closed because FOB Japan had already reached $900/mt.
