Asian Acetic Acid/VAM Prices Stable despite Low Trade / Shrinking FOB China spot cargoes curb price downside / VAM fundamentals bullish due to VAE capacity expansions and limited domestic supply

In the week ending December 5, Asian vinyl acetate and acetic acids prices were steady amid low trade. On the Chinese acetic market, FOB China cargoes are being offered at $310/mt. Tradeable levels range between $300 and $305/mt. Jiangsu domestic prices fell Yuan 75/mt in a week, to about Yuan 2,550/mt. FOB China prices were relatively resilient, as cargoes for December and January loadings were becoming scarce and one producer no longer offered spot because they ran out of stock. FOB China acetic acids unchanged for the week at $305/mt on Dec. 5.
