The week ended October 30, a large acetic-acid production capacity in China affected Asian acetic acids prices, while vinyl acetate monomer was stable despite low trading volume. Spot cargoes were priced at Yuan 2,650-2750/mt, or Yuan 6,99/mt less than the previous week. FOB China offers to the Indian market are around $10-$20 lower than last week, at $320/mt. This is below production costs according to producers. The Asian vinyl acetate Monomer Prices were stable on the week despite little price discussion. Market sources reported that the demand for polyvinyl acetate downstream in China was stable. However, demand for ethyl vc acetate has slowed, with 80% November sales completed.
