The price of Asian acetic acids was unchanged in the week ending February 13, but VAM prices increased due to tight supply in China. The same as the previous week, China heard offers at $350/mt for cargoes loading in March. Deals were made at $335 to $350/mt. Domestic cargoes were discussed at Yuan 2,750-2.870/mt (ex-tank) on Feb. 13 or $333-348/mt based on import parity. The price of AA FOB China was unchanged week-over-week at $345/mt. East China AA prices remained stable during the same time period at Yuan 2,800/mt. Low production rates by coal and gas-based VAM manufacturers in Asia have led to a shortage of cargoes on the domestic market.
