Acetic Acid and Derivatives in South Asia: Prices soften due to lower offers, but VAM prices are stable or firm / Consistent vessel arrivals support AA inventories / VAM prices fall amid low domestic prices

The Indian acetic market was weak on Oct. 3, due to low interest in buying. CFR India acetic acids discussions were softer, with Octoberloading offered in a range between $395 and $410/mt CFR India for LCs 90 days. The buying interest ranged from $380 to 385/mt CFR India, despite a healthy supply and a slowdown in downstream demand. A trade was reported for an end-user to purchase a 3,000-4,000mt arrival at $387/mt CFR India under different payment terms. India's domestic ex-tank prices for acetic acids were steady to softening, with levels around Rupees 35.5-36/kg in Kandla port and Rupees 36.75-37.5/kg in Mumbai port. The latest data on the market showed that the acetic acid stock at Kandla was 33,193 mt as of Sept. 30. Levels were almost unchanged since mid-August....
