Sources said that the fundamentals of the Indian acetic market were mixed. Prices ranged around Rupees35.50/kg in Kandla, and Rupees36.50/kg in Mumbai port. A balanced port inventory was preventing any significant declines. CFR activity, however, was low, as prices weakened amid increased pressure from Chinese suppliers. Participants were waiting for the markets to resume after the festival holidays that began in week beginning Nov. 4. The price of November-loading 1,000-3000 mt CFR India LC90 days was $380/mt, down nearly $10/mt from the previous week. Counter bids/buying interests were at $370/mt. "$380/mt almost equals market price for me, I have no margins," said an importer, noting that buying interest is low despite lower offers. Kandla port inventories are expected to remain low and under 25,000 mt by mid-November, according to traders....
