AA: The Indian market for acetic acids was stable or mixed, with minor gains in domestic prices. Market sources reported that a reduction in port inventories, and an increase in demand, supported the domestic prices. Sources said that market activity would likely be muted in India for the next five to ten days due to Diwali celebrations and for Labh Pancham in Gujarat. Mumbai port inventories are likely to increase as some larger cargoes are in the pipeline and due for delivery early November. CFR discussions were sparse as many market participants were on holiday for Diwali celebrations in the week beginning Oct. 29, and preferred to do any spot deals after Diwali.
