Acetic acid. The Indian acetic market was weaker during the week due to a weaker Chinese economy. India's domestic prices ex-tank were lower at Rupees 34.75 to 35/kg in Kandla, and Rupees 35.5-35.25/kg in Mumbai. A weaker international market was a major factor in the decline of domestic prices. An importer stated that while port inventories were not high, the Indian market for acetic acids had been severely affected by falling Chinese prices, a sharp drop in the exchange rate, and the decline of Chinese prices. The range of offers for December-loading shipments was $380-$385/mt with LC90 days, while counter-bids/buying interest were heard at $365 to $370/mt with LC90 days.
