The acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) spot market in Asialost ground June 5, with the weakness underpinned by a declinein upstream styrene monomer prices.Prices for ABS cargoes for delivery into China fell $20/mt week on week to $1,450/mt on June 5. Trade sources saidthat the lower prices were also in line with sliding Chinesedomestic prices.Offers for H2 June-H1 July delivery were heard at $1,480-$1,500/mt CFR China, but these attracted little interest frombuyers, sources said."There is no point in offering any material... we will considerany buyer's price indication if it is reasonable," a producer basedin northeast Asia said.In feedstocks, prices of styrene monomer on CFR Chinaand FOB Korea basis were assessed at $1,151/mt and $1,141/mt, respectively, on June 5, both down $29/mt from their lastassessments.Trade sources said that still-high freight rates were weighingon demand."Freight...
