Asian ABS: Higher feedstock costs drive up prices- Upstream feedstock mixed- Activity
remains mutedAsian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene was
assessed higher at $1,375/mt for the CFR China marker in the week to March 29. The CFR Southeast Asia
marker was also higher in week-to-week at $1,400/mt. The upstream feedstocks for ABS were mixed this week. The
CFR Far East Asia marker of acrylonitrile fell $45/mt, to $1,480/mt on March
28. The CFR China marker for the styrene
monomer climbed $38/mt to $1084.50/mt February 29. CFR China's marker for butadiene was stable at $1.150/mt
during the week. According to market
sources, production costs are expected to increase by about $12/mt
week-on-week. "The market is quiet
like last week. "Not much has changed
