acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene producers saw some relief as feedstocks
softened. The
styrene-monomer CFR China mark was $1,061/mt down $38/mt from the previous
week. However, the acrylonitrile CFR Far East Asia mark was unchanged at
$1410/mt. ABS prices are $10/mt less than
the previous week, at $1,340/mt for CFR China, and $1,365/mt for CFR China on
April 26. According to sources, Chinese
ABS producers are continuing to operate at high rates of production. This is
aggravating the current oversupply situation in Northeast Asia. Sources estimated that rates were around 85%. This level is
considered unsustainable by many. Prices
