Sources reported a slight increase in the
market activity on June 9, which led to MTBE FOB Singapore price rising
$72.30/mt from last week. The
arbitrage window opened in the week prior to June 9 and traders reported that
trades were done between FOB China $915-920/mt with July loading, and a volume
of 15 000 mt was confirmed. A trader
stated that the low gasoline demand is due to the volatility of Brent prices.
This has caused MTBE demand to be shaky in Southeast Asia. The August ICE Brent Futures were down by 98 Cents/b on a
