South Asian Acrylonitrile was stable during the week ending Oct. 1, due to the same fundamentals of demand and supply, as well as a steady level of discussion. Sources say the South Asia ACN has stabilized after picking up over the past few weeks due to concerns about the Bureau of Indian Standards certifications that are expected to be implemented on October 24 and tightening of material availability. India extended its deadline to implement mandatory BIS certifications to October 3 for ethylene vinyl-acetate copolymers and to October 24 for acrylonitrile (vinylbenzene), styrene, and maleic anhydride on March 18. A trader reported that ACN supplies are tightening, as tradable quantities have reached $1,250/mt.
