South Asia: ACN market strengthens amid tighter supplies and higher discussion / CFR Far East Asia gains $10/mt / SE Asian prices rise

The South Asia acrylonitrile markets firmed during the week ending January 28. Sellers continued to pitch at higher prices due to tighter supply. ACN CFR South Asia is up $20/mt compared to the previous assessment of $1350/mt on Jan. 28. This was under the offer level heard, which was $1400/mt. A supplier from abroad said that buying inquiries are on the rise in India, while the activity in nearby regions is still slow because of holidays. Sources say that trade participants continue to be concerned about supply, and that India allocations have decreased over the past week.
