Asia: PE trade in China muted; HDPE and LDPE slightly uptrend in SE Asia / HDPE and LDPE grades increase in SE Asia / Unspeakable trading in China

In the week ending Nov. 6, Asian polyethylene markets were still quiet, though some grades saw a slight price increase as suppliers sought to maintain prices despite the slow demand. HDPE film grades in Southeast Asia trended slightly up amid restocking activities ahead of the end-of-year as well as increased offers. However, sources are not optimistic about sellers' ability to maintain prices at these levels, as the lull season and overall demand remain sluggish. HDPE film grades were up $10/mt for the week, at $970/mt. HD Yarn grades were up $10/mt for the week, at $1,000/mt. In China, HD prices remained stable at $915/mt despite muted trading.
