Global Chemical Prices Today

Chemicals Name Current Price Previous Price Changes Location Date Action

Prices updated:

International chemical prices are the regional benchmarks that set import parity for India, quoted CFR South Asia, CFR India, FOB China, FOB Korea and CFR Far East Asia. Chemicals Updates tracks these benchmarks daily for solvents, aromatics, olefins, glycols and polymers alongside crude and naphtha, with the current and previous level and the change.

How these prices are quoted

International prices are quoted in US dollars per metric tonne on a CFR or FOB basis at a named regional port. Landed cost into India is the CFR figure plus customs duty, port handling and inland freight; that landed cost is what competes with Indian producer and port prices.

What moves these prices

Brent and WTI crude, naphtha and other feedstock; operating rates and turnarounds at Chinese, Korean, Middle East and Southeast Asian producers; Chinese domestic demand and export volumes; ocean freight; and arbitrage between regions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the CFR India price for a chemical?

CFR India is the cost of a cargo delivered to an Indian port including freight, before customs duty and local handling. It is the main reference for import parity.

What is the difference between CFR and FOB pricing?

FOB is the price at the loading port (buyer arranges freight and insurance); CFR includes freight to the destination port but not insurance; CIF adds insurance.

Which regions do these international chemical prices cover?

CFR South Asia and CFR India, FOB China and FOB Korea for Northeast Asia, and CFR Southeast Asia and CFR Far East Asia, alongside Brent and WTI crude and naphtha.

How often are international chemical benchmarks updated?

Every trading day, tracking the CFR and FOB regional assessments plus crude and naphtha.

How do I convert a CFR India price to a landed cost?

Add basic customs duty and applicable cess, port and terminal handling, clearing and survey charges and inland freight to the CFR figure. IGST is charged on import but is usually creditable for registered buyers.

Why do FOB China and CFR India prices differ for the same chemical?

The gap is mainly ocean freight from China to India, plus any regional arbitrage and the duty that applies on the Indian side.

What drives global chemical prices?

Crude and naphtha cost, operating rates and turnarounds at Chinese, Korean, Middle East and Southeast Asian producers, Chinese domestic demand and export volumes, and ocean freight.

Which international benchmark matters most for Indian buyers?

CFR India and CFR South Asia, because the landed cost derived from them sets the ceiling for domestic producer and port prices.

Where can I see historical international chemical price charts?

The Chemicals Updates subscriber portal carries historical CFR and FOB price series and charts alongside the daily report.
