The Asian naphtha markets were steady to
slightly lower March 30, while trade for first-half May cargoes was nearly
completed by the end of this week. The
fundamentals of the Asian naphtha market remained stable to slightly weaker
March 30. Trade for first-half May delivery cargoes was almost complete at the
end of the week. This was due to tightening in Europe as a result supply
disruptions caused by the French refinery strike. Brokers
pegged the May east-west spread at about minus $8-$8.50/mt mid afternoon trade
March 30. This was down from minus $12/mt at Asian close March 29. The
May-June spread was narrower, at $8.75/mt, from $9.25/mt on March 30.
