Dec. 2 saw Asian ethylene prices remain unchanged
as buyers weren't eager to purchase imports due to low demand for downstream. End-users were suffering
from weak margins, which led to a weakening of demand for ethylene imports. The selling indications were heard between $930 and $950/mt
CFR North Asia, while the buying indications were around $850/mt. A Chinese trader stated that downstream PVC is weak and the
cost of naphtha feedstock are so high that no one would want to import
ethylene. The operating rates of ethylene
