AA: The direction of the Asian market was
set by Chinese acetic acid prices on June 30, as a large domestic supply and
relatively high production rates weighed down on prices. FOB China cargoes to India were being offered at
$530-550/mt on June 30, while cargoes weighing 1,000 mt up to 2,000 mt were
loaded from China in July for $630-650/mt CFR South Asia. Some Indian
buyers claimed that cargo loadings in the second quarter of July were being
offered at $580-595/mt CFR South Asia. However,
traders were reluctant at this level to trade. VAM: Talks
