- Wide buy-sell gap hinders discussions- September buying sentiment saw as firm

There were very few discussions in the
Asian Ethylene market on Sept. 6, as many participants remained on the
sidelines due to limited supply. There
was a wide buy-sell gap as buyers pointed to weak downstream production margins
while sellers indicated that there was a tight supply. Although traders received inquiries about September cargoes,
some said they were still open to buying ideas due to high supplier prices. The benchmark C+F Japan Naphtha marker was up $8.50-9.50/mt
to $674.50-700.50/mt September 6 Asian close. The spread for ethylene-naphtha was $325.50-350.50/mt within
the average spread of $300-$350/mt.
