Indian market sentiment
remained bearish as Indian importers panicked and sold ex-tank stocks. There
were tentative vessel arrivals for the week beginning July 18th. According to market sources, some Iranian
vessels were delayed. CFR India methanol prices were $279-300/mt on
July 21. This was down $4-5/mt considering the fall in domestic market ex-tank
discussions. According to a market source, although supplies
were limited at Kandla port because of port congestion, stock availability at
other ports improved, and ex-tank discussions dropped as low as Rupee 24-per-kg
for 600 mt volume. Ex-tank offers to deliver in the week beginning
July 25 were lower. CFR buying ideas were lower at $270-$275/mt.
