The US methanol price rose in spite of low
buying interest. There were no trades or bids on the week. Prices dropped to 106
cents/gal on Sept. 2, 2 cents lower than the previous week. Market participants
confirmed this early in the week. The
day's prices remained stable as buyers' interest was muted. Spot methanol for September and October was steady at
106c/gal FOB USG, respectively. However, there were higher offers made on the
day. Spot buying interest is still low,
