- Weak downstream demand- Unv1’s LCY Chemical Corp
proposes to reduce the run rate of the PP plant by 70% in

August Due to low demand for polypropylene,
the Asian propylene market fell on July 18. Sources said that the market sentiment was not
lifted by the rise in crude oil futures. According
to a source, Unv1's LCY Chemical Corp., which produces 400,000 mt/year of
polypropylene in Kaohsiung, is looking at reducing the run rate to 70% for
August. Due to low PP demand, the company has maintained
the PP unit at 80-90% in June and July. LCY
Chemical purchases term propylene feedstock at a Kaohsiung cracker and imports
it from overseas suppliers. Weak demand caused the domestic
Shandong price to fall.
