Wanhua Chemical halts operations at BDO plant

Wanhua Chemical has taken its butanediol (BDO) plant off stream. A source in China informed team member, “The company has shut the plant in early January 2026 for maintenance. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Yantai, Shandong province of China, the BDO plant has a production capacity of 100,000 mt/year.
