Spot prices for US toluene rose on June 28
due to a trade executed on the day and signs of strength in upstream energy. The June NGT was evaluated
at 603.00c/gal, which is 8 cents more than the previous day. Trades for 25,000 barrels June/July CGT were heard at
603.00c/gal. Market feedback suggests that CGT and NGT are in parity. In spite of limited market activity, July mixed xylene spot
pricing was flat. Sources said that it is
difficult to determine accurate pricing. Another
source said that liquidity was not present ahead of the July Fourth holiday
weekend. According to a third source,
suppliers are still pushing for higher prices in order to maintain high
