As market participants analyzed the market
dynamics for the second-half of January deliveries, few new trades were made
for Asia naphtha. Market sources said that bearish sentiment was heard after
China's refiners increased their naphtha production. A trader said that Chinese
imports of naphtha are decreasing. Chinese refineries will be meeting their
quarterly requirements, so they will increase their run rate for naphtha. This
will reduce their demand. Brokers pegged
the January-February front month timespread at $6.75 midafternoon trading,
50c/mt less than the $7.25/mt Asian close Dec. 1. The trader said that olefins and naphtha margins were still
