AA: The Asian Acetic Acid Market was hit by
high inventory levels and slow domestic demand in India and China. Sources said that China's
AA stockpiles were around 190,000 mt. Of this, the coastal inventory was about
120,000 mt. Chinese AA exporters are under
pressure because of slow domestic demand. High
freight rates from China and India prevented offers from dropping sharply. They
were estimated at $490-510/mt CFR South Asia parcels ranging from 1,000 to
2,000 mt. Sources said that Indian AA
importers refused to pay more than $460-480/mt CFR South Asia due to low
domestic demand and large stockpiles of more than 70,000 mt along the country's
