Due to a tight supply, the price of Chinese
acetic acids rose slightly from week 11 May. According to market sources, end-users had
stocked up in China ahead of planned turnarounds scheduled for the end May. FOB China
cargoes have been offered at $390-$410/mt on May 11, up from $370/mt in the
previous week. Market sources say that India, China's biggest
AA export market has a weak sentiment due to a slower ethyl-acetate demand, and
acetic acid stocks of around 60,000 mt in India's West Coast. Market
participants were willing to trade at $420/mt CIF India for an Indian buying
idea of $400-$410/mt. However, Chinese sellers could not sell at this level and
