AA: The European Acetic Acid
market was largely stable over the past week, despite the slow activity. The price of AA was Eur1,600-1,620/mt, based on
a product that was delivered in Northwest Europe on Jul 21. There is very
little liquidity. A distributor stated that "[Acetic Acid]
markets remain slow and steady." According to
another distributor, prices were expected to fall in August while there was
sufficient product to meet demand. The prices for South Europe were
slightly higher at Eur1,640-1,660/mt, which was delivered in Italy. VAM: The
European vinyl monomer spot market for vinyl acetate monomer was less active
week-on-week, despite talk of increased availability on the spot market. Spot-free
delivered prices were down Eur50-53/mt from the previous week, at Eur2,500-2,520/mt
