US methanol spot market
participation was at its minimum on Nov. 1, due to a lack bids and trades, as
well as few offers from market participants that day. The spot methanol prices
for November and December were the same at 100c/gal FOB USG. Both assessments were subject to high-priced offers. Sources claim that 40,000 barrels were sold Oct. 31 at
100c/gal following the market on Close assessment. A source stated that it was a value buy, not a contract less
discount. Another source also agreed. According
to sources, the US production is growing and improving. The market is in a long position, however, as it is
