US Recycled PET: Prices are stable today■ Sources have varying supply levels■ WeakeningDespite market talk about softening demand, the US recycled
low-density polyethylene markets were unchanged on Aug. 3. Based on
pricing information received recently, post-use LDPE movie bales made of 95%
clear LDPE and a 5% non-LDPE allowance were unchanged at 28c/lb FOB
Chicago. Despite the day-to-day stability, some sources say recycled LDPE
demand remains strong. However, other sources expect prices to begin to fall in
the coming weeks in line with trends in other plastics markets. On the
basis of recent seller indications, Grade B 80/20 post-use LDPE film bales were
flat at 16 cents/lb FOB Chicago. One source said that B Grade film bales
demand was "still good", adding that prices may drop if the Grade B
