announcement of a major partnership on Nov. 9 saw natural bale prices for
recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE) edge up. LyondellBasell and
Envision Plastics announced a long-term supply deal for HDPE post-consumer in
North America. One Midwest supplier said that this could have huge
implications for the industry. Others suggested that the announcement
could have caused an unseasonable increase in natural bales price, which has
risen by 50% since Sept. 21 despite steady demand. A seller from the
Southeast claimed that some suppliers were not able to find buyers for natural
