US PET: Import PET prices hold steady■ July

Terephthalate price was flat at $2,116-$2,138/mt (96 to97 cents/lb DDP US West
Coast) based on pricing indications within that range. On the week of August 3,
domestic PET prices were also unchanged at $2,282-$2,304/mt (136.5-104.5c/lb),
in formula pricing and stable pricing indications. According to a market source, Asian PET prices have been
softening due to weaker upstream purified Terephthalic Acid futures. This has
had an impact on US import pricing. The
source stated that unless China opens completely or something strange happens,
