Due to tight supplies, higher
crude, and upstream naphtha prices, Asian toluene was valued at $19-$24/mt at
979/mt FOB Korea. It was also up $5-$6/mt at $840-$860/mt CFR China Oct. 13. A bidder was found for
2,000 mt ASTM D-841 November loading cargo, priced at $970-$990/mt. LC is
available for a short time. The last time an
offer was made for any-November loading, it was $980-$998/mt. There were no
takers. There were no trades. A trader stated that November gasoline prices in the US are
extremely high, which is pushing toluene values up in Europe and the US.
However, Asia will not be able to benefit because the transit time is lengthy
