US-LDPE: Prices stable ahead of US Gulf Coast freeze- Spot Exports Stable Since December- LDPE Capacity unchanged in 2022: ACCThe spot export low density polyethylene
levels remained unchanged for the second week in a row Dec. 21. This is due to
low demand and thin trading activity around holidays, while the market prepares
itself for the effects of freezing temperatures along the US Gulf Coast. Since Dec. 6, spot exports
have remained steady at $992-1005/mt FAS Houston. The last time prices were below $1,000/mt was July 28, 2020
when the assessed level was also $992-1006. The week ended Dec. 21 saw little buying and selling
activity, with no new market transactions. Although export appetite was already low in Q4, market
participants remained cautious in anticipation of the USGC's freezing
temperatures in the days before...
