European benzene markets fell on Nov. 28
with lower offers over the weekend. As buying
interest was low in the morning, the forward delivery laycan for five to thirty
days was down $26/mt at $624/mt CIF-ARA. Although
bids and offers rose in the afternoon, they did not exceed morning levels. End-November
saw benzene prices drop as US interest slowed and oil prices fell. Styrene
prices were under pressure this weekend with the forward loading laycan for
five to thirty days at $1,060/mt FOB AR down $1.75/mt. The spread
between benzene & styrene was $436-450/mt. This is within the $400-$500/mt
production spread that producers heard about in the second half 2022. The
industry-settled December prices for both products will be announced...
