US HDPE: Blowmolding, film-grade export prices rise | CP Chem declares force majeure on Texas site | November HDPE exports down by 6%

US HDPE: Blowmolding, film-grade export prices rise- CP Chem declares force majeure on Texas site- November HDPE exports down by 6% inSpot export prices of high density
polyethylene rose $44/mt on some grades, while others held steady. The
availability is tightening as producers struggle with operational issues. HDPE blowmolding costs
were up $44/mt, while film-grade HDPE prices rose $66/mt. Prices for injection-grade products remained unchanged. According to a source, "It seems HDPE supplies are
tight." He also said that he hadn't seen any film-grade resin or
blowmolding available in January. Another
source claimed that several major polyethylene producers had dealt with more
plant problems than expected in the wake of the sustained subfreezing
temperatures on the US Gulf Coast at December's end. The US exported 298,427 tonnes of HDPE in November. This was
down 6%...
