The spot US import polyethylene
Terephthalate price was unchanged at $2,116-$2,138/mt (96 to97 cents/lb DDP US
West Coast), based on the last pricing indications within that range. On the week of Aug. 10,
domestic PET prices were flat at $2,282-$2,304/mt (13.5-24.5c/lb) in
formula-based pricing. According to market
sources, July upstream US paraxylene contracts and purified Terephthalic Acid
contracts had not settled. However, prices were expected lower than June's
highs. The May PX and PTA contracts prices
had not yet settled. The June PX contract
price was settled at 103.5c/gal. This is an increase of 37.5c/gal over April's
66c/gal. PTA for June was 93.70c/lb. Indorama Ventures announced Aug. 10 in company news that it
expects the global PET demand...
