Asian isomer-grade mixed xylene rose $6-7/mt
on the day to $943.50-970.25/mt FOB Korea, and at $940.50-960.25/mt CRU Unv1.
It weakened from $7.50-8.50/mt to $967.50-990.20/mt CRC China on July 21. The China domestic market continued to soften,
but international prices were supported in part by the demand for August cargo
on a FOB Korea basis. Prices for Isomer MX rose $7-8/mt to
$1,047-1,080/mt CFRUnv1/China. However, xylenes moved in opposite
directions to crude oil, with September ICE Brent crude oil futures falling
$2.20-3.50/barrel on the day at $103.76/b by 0830 GMT in Asian trading. China's
domestic market heard August ex-tank price in the east at Yuan 7,600-7620/mt.
This is rough $966-980/mt if you consider import parity. Sources
