- Unchanged Buy-Sell Indicators- Some deals for cargoes on an afloat basis

On Nov. 24, activity in Asian Ethylene
markets remained low as demand and supply fundamentals remained the same. According to market sources,
buying and selling indicators for fixed-price cargoes remained unchanged over
the week. Producers are still under pressure due to high feedstock costs, while
buyers worry about weak derivatives demand. Some cargoes were sold on a floating basis at a premium of
$20-25/mt to CFR Northeast Asia. The
benchmark C+F Japan Naphtha marker fell by $16.75/mt to $686.75/mt as of Nov.
24, Asian close. The spread for
ethylene-naphtha was $193.25/mt. This is lower than the average spread of
$300-$350/mt among non-integrated producers.
