On thin trade, Asian monoethylene glycol
imports remained stable on Nov. 8, 2008. Recession woes impacted polyester demand. The ICE January Brent crude oil futures increased 8
cents/bday on day to $97.72/b by 4:30 PM Singapore time (0830 GMT), Nov. 8. MEG prices were at their lowest level in two years. Prices in Europe were at $605mt CIF-ARA, which was $2/mt
lower than Nov. 4. Arbitrage to the US was
closed. The US prices were 19.5 cents/lb
($430/mt FOB USG), an increase of 1 cent/lb Nov. Kamlesh Parwani (commercial director) reports that
monoethylene glycol major ME Global International FZE will introduce an
independent pricing system for its Indian customers for the 2023 contracts.
