the week ending Nov. 9, Turkish polystyrene demand was slow and supply was
strong. This caused a muted market. The spot price for CFR Turkey GPPS was
$1,550/mt. This is unchanged from the previous week. Some producers were
reportedly considering lowering operating rates to meet soft sales. The Turkish
PS market was seeing a worsening demand picture. Sources said that
segments such as construction and packaging saw a slowdown in their
consumption. They also stated that the bearish macroeconomic picture in Turkey
had negatively impacted enduser demand. A producer stated that the demand
side was "very problematic right now," and that everyone is being
cautious on the market. The market was illiquid, with little trading
activity...
