Spot pricing in the Turkish and African
polystyrene market was stable in the week ending February 15, with little
trading activity limiting liquidity. General purpose polystyrene spot price was
also stable at unchanged of $1,450-1,490/mt. CFR Turkey. The spot pricing for North African GPPS was
stable at $1,660-1,200/mt CFR Turkey. General purpose polystyrene spot prices
remained unchanged at $1,450-1,490/mt CFR Turkey. Participants
noted that they were still waiting for developments on upstream monomer pricing. The Participant
outlook on the Turkish market is very short-term. uncertainty will be
dominant as the country recovers from the earthquakes. Players
pointed out that the sector's long-term outlook would depend on how much
capacity has been affected by the disaster.
